Meet Bekah, our November Member of the Month! Bekah has been the epitome of consistency, showing up week after week and making incredible progress, even while navigating a knee injury. Her determination, positive attitude, and commitment to her postpartum journey have been truly inspiring to watch. Let’s dive into Bekah’s Q&A to learn more about her CrossFit journey and what keeps her coming back to 312 Fortitude! 💪✨

Q&A with Davey:

Q: What initially drew you to functional fitness and 312 Fortitude, and what keeps you coming back?
A: My older brother has been doing CrossFit for a long time, and my husband, Vili, joined 312 in 2023 because he always wanted to give it a go. I thought CrossFit was too scary for me—I assumed you had to be really fit to start. But when our sissy Sha was moving to Australia and Tash was going to be at 312 by herself, I decided to try it out. What keeps me coming back is the community and the feeling of achieving something I couldn’t do before—it’s addictive!

Q: Can you share a highlight or memorable achievement from your time at 312 Fortitude?
A: Completing the 8-week challenge and winning! I joined just to get motivated and help with my postpartum journey, so I didn’t expect to win—but it was an amazing feeling.

Q: What’s your favorite movement or exercise, and what do you love about it?
A: I love strength and weightlifting—it’s something I’m still learning, but I want to be a weightlifter someday! My favorite movement is the clean and jerk. There’s such a sense of accomplishment in moving heavy weights with your whole body.

Q: How do you maintain your motivation and enthusiasm for functional fitness?
A: Consistency is key! Even on days when life gets busy and I don’t feel like coming, I just turn up—I always feel 1000 times better afterward. Plus, I want to set an example for my boys, showing them the importance of taking care of themselves by seeing their mum prioritize her health.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of the gym?
A: I’m a busy mum of three and also look after my two younger sisters. Aside from Zumba, I’m a huge nerd and love anything comic book-related.

Q: Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV series/show that you would recommend?
A: If you’ve seen my arm tattoo, you’d know I’m a huge Green Arrow fan! Right now, I’d recommend watching The Boys.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I’d love to go back to New York, USA—it’s an incredible place to visit.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their functional fitness journey, what would it be?
A: Just give it a go! Don’t let your fitness level or body hold you back. 312 is so welcoming and caters to all shapes and sizes. Come join the 312 fams!
