We’re stoked to introduce Erina as our February Member of the Month—our first proper spotlight for 2025! 🎉

Coach Luke nominated Erina for her incredible consistency and noticeable improvements across the board. Over the last month, her lifts have been looking strong, and her gymnastics skills have leveled up in a big way. She also smashed her first ever RX Open, nailing double unders, chest-to-bar pull-ups, and wall walks for the first time! Her quiet determination, positivity, and commitment to growth make her a standout in every class. Let’s get to know more about Erina below! 🙌💪

Q&A with Erina:

Q: What initially drew you to functional fitness and 312 Fortitude, and what keeps you coming back?
A:I started doing CrossFit-style workouts during COVID with my flatmates in our garage. It was completely new to me, but a fun way to stay active. I’ve never been naturally athletic, but after the lockdowns, I wanted to keep it going—so I found Fortitude nearby. It felt like working out with friends and having a good time, and I haven’t looked back since!

Q: Can you share a highlight or memorable achievement from your time at 312 Fortitude?
A: This year’s CrossFit Open! I challenged myself to do all the workouts RX, which was tough, but so worth it. I even got my first chest-to-bars!

Q: What’s your favorite movement or exercise, and what do you love about it?
A: Anything on the rings—even though I rarely do it, it’s always fun to have a little swing!

Q: How do you maintain your motivation and enthusiasm for functional fitness?
A: For me, it’s about staying consistent and making it a habit. What really keeps it exciting is seeing progress—learning new skills and gaining confidence along the way.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of the gym?
A: I’m a bit of a homebody. I enjoy baking, knitting, and anything crafty.

Q: Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV series/show that you would recommend?
A:I’ve recently been rewatching One Day (the TV series, not the movie!) and would definitely recommend it.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I’d love to take a trip around Southeast Asia—that’s definitely on my list!

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their functional fitness journey, what would it be?
A: Don’t be afraid to just give everything a go. Everyone’s on their own fitness journey, but at 312 we celebrate the wins together!
