Let’s hear it for Daniel, our March Member of the Month! 🎉
Daniel has come such a long way since he first joined—starting out quiet and shy, to now confidently throwing himself into workouts and smashing goal after goal. This year alone, he’s been putting in the mahi on his weaknesses and it’s showing big time: connecting pull-ups and toes-to-bar, lifting heavier, and even getting his first bar muscle-up! He’s also jumped into comps like Metcon Madness, and crushed the CrossFit Open with every WOD done RX. We’re proud as of his growth, energy, and the positivity he brings to the Fortitude fam! 💪
Q: What initially drew you to functional fitness and 312 Fortitude, and what keeps you coming back?
A: I found that this type of training was the only thing that consistently got me out of bed and into the gym, so I stuck with it. What keeps me coming back is 100% the people and the flexibility compared to other gyms.
Q: Can you share a highlight or memorable achievement from your time at 312 Fortitude?
A:CrossFit Open 2025! It was a lot of fun… and not a lot of fun at the same time. 😅
Q: What’s your favorite movement or exercise, and what do you love about it?
A:Anything far away from the rig. I don’t mind a heavy squat or a clean complex… sometimes. 😆
Q: How do you maintain your motivation and enthusiasm for functional fitness?
A: It’s the little wins I get day in and day out—sometimes I surprise myself! Tracking progress keeps me going, and the community and friendships I’ve built at Fortitude are a huge motivator too.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of the gym?
A: Beach hangs, baking, eating, and spending time with Kibo—my little gremlin dog!
Q: Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV series/show that you would recommend?
A: I’m currently reading Open by Andre Agassi. It’s fascinating how someone at the top of their game can have such a love-hate relationship with their sport. It’s refreshing and relatable, and I definitely recommend it.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: I’d love to reconnect with the motherland—the Philippines. I want to eat all my favourite foods, live my island girl life in El Nido, Coron, and Siargao, and be a passenger princess in a jeepney.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their functional fitness journey, what would it be?
A: Wear tape—lots and lots of it. And don’t get chalk in your eye. 😂
Daniel, your growth this year has been unreal! From smashing Open WODs RX to pulling off your first bar muscle-up and confidently stepping into competitions—you’re proof that showing up and doing the work pays off. We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what’s next. Keep crushing it! 🔥👏
