Say kia ora to Kait, our April Member of the Month! 🏆

Kait joined just six months ago and has already become an absolute weapon. With a strong background in running and gymnastics, she’s brought the heat to every class and never backs down from a challenge—whether it’s a last-minute comp, extra rounds after class, or staying back to grind her skills. She’s already nailed her bar muscle-ups, and her lifts are getting stronger by the week. Kait’s energy, commitment, and “always keen” attitude have made her a standout in the 312 Fortitude whānau!

Q&A with Kait:

Q: What initially drew you to functional fitness and 312 Fortitude, and what keeps you coming back?
A: I was just looking for a new challenge—but quickly developed a real love and respect for the grit (and fortitude, literally) this sport brings out in people, myself included. 312 Fortitude has become my second home, which speaks to the amazing community and whānau who’ve backed me since day one. ♡

Q: Can you share a highlight or memorable achievement from your time at 312 Fortitude?
A: Humbling the lads in engine/endurance WODs. 😌

Q: What’s your favorite movement or exercise, and what do you love about it?
A: Bar muscle-ups! But honestly, any rig movement is my fave.

Q: How do you maintain your motivation and enthusiasm for functional fitness?
A: It’s all about showing myself what I’m capable of.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of the gym?
A: Right now, I’m either bouldering or doing BJJ with my gorls.

Q: Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV series/show that you would recommend?
A:I love a good 90s film! A recent fave is 10 Things I Hate About You.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: Iceland—to see the northern lights! 🌌

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their functional fitness journey, what would it be?
A: Keep showing up! But also learn when your body needs rest.
