Member of the Month - October: Ross

Introducing our October Member of the MonthRoss, one of the most consistent early-morning machines in the 5:15am crew! 🌅

Ross started with us last year, and since then, his progress has been incredible. He shows up, does the work, and never once complains — whether it’s running, skipping, lunges, or anything cardio-heavy, Ross gets it done. He’s proof that you don’t need to be the fittest or fastest to make big improvements — just consistent, committed, and willing to try. His attitude, effort, and quiet determination are exactly what Fortitude is all about. 💪🔥

Q&A with Ross:

Q: What initially drew you to functional fitness and 312 Fortitude, and what keeps you coming back?
A: Juri (the Italian) invited me to try a class. After that first session, I enrolled straight away. I like how easy-going everyone is, and the trainers are approachable and always happy to help. Overall, I just enjoy the vibe of the gym.

Q: Can you share a highlight or memorable achievement from your time at 312 Fortitude?
A:There are lots, but one that stands out is finally learning how to skip. I’ve never been able to do it before, so getting the hang of it made me really happy.

Q: What’s your favorite movement or exercise, and what do you love about it?
A:I’ve always liked back squats, but recently I’ve learned to enjoy split jerks now that I’m getting the hang of them.

Q: How do you maintain your motivation and enthusiasm for functional fitness?
A: Seeing my own progress — whether it’s wall walks or walking lunges — keeps me coming back. Those little improvements make me proud of myself.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of the gym?
A: Sleeping (haha 😂). But I also enjoy going fishing — it’s a great way to relax and unwind.

Q: Do you have a favorite book, movie, or TV series/show that you would recommend?
A: Book: Not really,
Movie: The Grey (Liam Neeson), TV shows: Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, Last Kingdom

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: Japan — I’d love to visit one day.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone just starting their functional fitness journey, what would it be?
A: Don’t worry about anyone else — focus on yourself. Celebrate the small gains and be proud of yourself for getting up and giving it a go.

Ross, the whole crew sees your mahi — the early mornings, the effort, the persistence, and the courage to keep showing up no matter the workout. Your progress is well-earned, and your attitude makes you a legend in the 5:15am squad. We’re proud of how far you’ve come and even more excited for how far you’ll go. Keep going, Ross — small gains, big heart. 👏🔥

Hey, like this? Why not share it with a buddy?
