At 312 Fortitude, our goal has always been simple:
guide you, educate you, and inspire you.

One of the best ways we do that?
👉 Bringing our community together.

Every year, when the CrossFit Open rolls around, something special happens. The gym gets louder. The vibes get higher. People surprise themselves. Strangers become teammates. And suddenly, workouts feel… different.

This year, we’re leaning all the way into it — and making it even more fun.

Welcome to the 2026 312 Fortitude Open In-House Comp 💥


 

🤔 What is the CrossFit Open (and do I need to be “good” at CrossFit)?

The CrossFit Open is a worldwide fitness event run by CrossFit HQ. For three weeks, one workout is released each week and gyms around the world complete it together.

But here’s the important part 👇
At 312 Fortitude, this is NOT about being elite.

For most of us, the Open is:

  • A fun challenge

  • A chance to try something new

  • A way to train with friends

  • A reason to show up, give it a crack, and celebrate effort

You do not need to be RX.
You do not need to register with CrossFit HQ.
You do not need competition experience.

If you train at 312 — this is for you.

CrossFit HQ Open Dates

  • Open Registration Opens: 14 January 2026

  • 26.1: 26 Feb – 2 Mar

  • 26.2: 5 Mar – 9 Mar

  • 26.3: 12 Mar – 16 Mar

312 Fortitude Friday Night Lights

  • 🔥 Friday 27 February – Week 1

  • 🔥 Friday 6 March – Week 2

  • 👻 Friday 13 March – FINALS (Freaky Friday)

🎉 Finals Night = Freaky Friday + Kai + Prizegiving + Celebration


 

👯‍♀️ Teams & Theme

  • Team names will be announced soon

  • Likely format: AM vs PM (because chaos is tradition 😈)

  • Everyone earns points for their team — every effort counts

🧟‍♂️ Theme: Freaky Friday
Costumes encouraged for finals night (fun > fashion > performance)


📝 Registration

Deciding to register for the CrossFit Open is entirely up to you, but we highly encourage you to. For those of you in the past who have participated with us, this meant registering online with CrossFit HQ. You can register if you want, if measuring yourself against the millions of people worldwide is important to you – by all means.

This year, there will be a $30 registration to participate at the gym. The purpose of this registration fee is to help with various items such as prizes, banners, food and all the other great things we will be providing during these weeks. Again, this event is about our community coming together. We’re not out here trying to make the CrossFit Games. We’re just out here trying to do some really awesome things, with some really awesome people. So this is what it will look like for you as a participant:

💳 In-House Registration

$30 per athlete

This covers:

  • Prizes for prizegiving

  • End-of-Open kai & celebration

  • Running the event properly (and loudly)

👕 Team Open Tee (Optional)

$25 – rep your team with pride


🏋️‍♀️ How the Workouts Work

Each week:

  • CrossFit HQ releases the workout on Friday

  • We’ll provide:

    • A suggested warm-up

    • Coaching tips & strategy

    • Clear scaling options

You’ll complete the workout during:

  • Friday Night Lights, or

  • Any class during the week (if Friday doesn’t suit)

Important bit 👇

You can:

  • Do the workout as written, OR

  • Scale, modify, or approach it like a normal class

This is not black-and-white RX vs Scaled.
It’s about effort, intention, and showing up.

SCORING SYSTEM / POINT SYSTEM

Let’s add some friendly competition within our community, and add some points into the mix that we can all race towards! Here are some scoring details:

When the Open is all said and done, we’ll tally up the points and announce our winner! The overall winning team will become the next team in a growing line of past champions to win the 312 Fortitude Fitness Open In-house Comp, accompanied by annual bragging rights!
